I heard a sad story about a puppy today.  Thankfully, Central Texas Dachshund Rescue is helping the puppy now.  I hope he gets better soon and finds as happy a home as I have.

Here is the story from my person's friend's Facebook page:

Sweet Little Ranger was taken into Rescue today by CTDR. It seems that his former familys' children gave him super glue. He was checked out at the vets' office however everything seemed until he tried to drink and eat. After Xrays were done, it was found that his esophagus was glued shut except for a tiny little hole. Ranger is only 8 weeks old and sure does not deserve this. He will undergo surgery in the morning to open the esophagus. Healing Rays are needed for this little guy. If you would like to help with his medical bills, please go to CTDR.org and you can donate there.
Hang in there Ranger~

I think that today, I'll let Ranger have the title of "Sweetest Puppy".  I hope that makes him feel better.

Ranger is feeling better!  Here is an update on him from a person:

RANGER UPDATE: I just got off the phone with the vet in Temple that has been treating little Ranger. The prayers for this little guy sure have helped. Nothing has shown up on the Xrays that indicate a blockage and he was able to do the Barium series today and that indicated that there was no type of stricture around the Esophagus. He has eaten and even though he has not thrown the food back up, he still makes funny noises while he is eating. The vet has him on soft canned food for the next 5 days along with him taking Sucalfrate to coat the stomach. The reason for this is due to the possible solvent that was put down the throat to dissolve the glue. The Sulcalfrate will help the esophagus burned area heal and enable Ranger to eat better.

After 5 days if there is no improvement, Ranger will go to Hwy 620 and Dr. Bouloy will consult with Dr. Caplan for possible Thoracic surgery.
