This sounds like a good book, too.  Car rides usually end in fun places like the Wiener Dog Races or the dog park!

Puppy Catches bin Laden!

As head of security for my neighborhood, I know a lot about how to keep people safe.  However, my people showed me this amazing story about another pup who caught Bin Laden!  He did have help from some people, but I am sure that the pup was in charge of the plan.  (Pups are the best at security!)

Accompanying the Navy Seals who completed the bin Laden mission was a faithful four-legged fighter. The trained military dog, either a German Shepherd or a Belgian Malinois, was attached to a human Seal and lowered from a helicopter into the compound. Wearing canine armor, he went along to sniff out hidden explosives or, if necessary, find a secret room of bin Laden's.

Central Texas Dachshund Rescue (CTDR) Helps Another Puppy

I heard a sad story about a puppy today.  Thankfully, Central Texas Dachshund Rescue is helping the puppy now.  I hope he gets better soon and finds as happy a home as I have.

Here is the story from my person's friend's Facebook page:

Sweet Little Ranger was taken into Rescue today by CTDR. It seems that his former familys' children gave him super glue. He was checked out at the vets' office however everything seemed until he tried to drink and eat. After Xrays were done, it was found that his esophagus was glued shut except for a tiny little hole. Ranger is only 8 weeks old and sure does not deserve this. He will undergo surgery in the morning to open the esophagus. Healing Rays are needed for this little guy. If you would like to help with his medical bills, please go to CTDR.org and you can donate there.
Hang in there Ranger~

I think that today, I'll let Ranger have the title of "Sweetest Puppy".  I hope that makes him feel better.

Off to the Races - Part 2

The Buda Wiener Dog Races were so fun that I had to post a couple more items from it!

I got this great video of the cool and awesome dogs running!  Some of the pups don't quite know how to run to the finish line, though.

I know I would have won, but they said I'm too tall to race.  So unfair!

Also, Central Texas Dachshund Rescue posted some pictures of cool and awesome pups in the pup-sized Wienermobile.

Here are a couple of my favorite pictures from there, but I think you should also look at all the pictures and find your own favorite pictures.  (I hope you think the ones of me are your favorites!)

I can't wait for my next post, but I also want to invite other puppies to write guest posts.  If you are a puppy (or know a puppy) who wants to write a guest post on my blog, let me know!

Off to the Races!

Today was quite an exciting day!  I went to the Buda Wiener Dog Races.  This event is well timed to celebrate the end of giant rabbit season.

I didn't race, but it was fun to watch the other puppies race.

It was also fun to see the Wienermobile.  This is the type of car I want to drive when I'm old enough.

In the meantime, I drove a smaller Wienermobile that's just for younger pups like me.

There were a lot of little, fast dogs like me, but we also saw a much bigger animal there.  I think it was a small horse.

When we were leaving, I saw one last giant rabbit.  I gave him a dirty look so he knew it was time to get out of town.  I doubt he'll be returning any time soon!

All in all, it was an awesome day!

I can't wait for next year!

By the way, did you notice my awesome and cool bandana?  I'll have a story about how I got that later.

Another Pup Found a Home!

My person showed me a happy blog post this morning.  A friend of his found a homeless pup and found him a home!  Doesn't he look happy now?

These stories make me so happy, especially since I used to be homeless myself.  Someday soon, I'll tell y'all my story of finding a home.  It's a sad story at first, but it has a very happy ending!
